Mercator and Tycho Brahe

Mercator was born in flanders, which experiencing a creative flourishing. Mercator discovered his profession while seeking help during his faith crisis. His high quality work brought him fame and success during his lifetime. He experienced some persecution. He left a lasting legacy with his map and the atlas.

Tycho Brahe. Lutheran protestantism spread  to the norwegian lands in the 1520s. Tycho Brahe’s interest in astronomy was the result of observing a solar eclipse when he was 13. He devoted his life to science and built his own instruments to increase measurement accuracy. His halfway-house model of the universe gained traction for a while.
